You're Invited!
The Thomas Jefferson Solar Panel Initiative is holding a solar panel kick-off event to commemorate the inauguration of the largest charitable, privately-funded photovoltaic solar panel installation at any secondary school in the nation. All donors - individual, corporate, and non-profit - should have received an invitation in the mail. If you did not, please contact us so we can make arrangements. In addition, members of the media are invited to attend the kick-off event. Information and material will be provided.
Event Details
Date: June 9th, 2009
Time: Begins at 2:30pm. Official program ends at 4pm; visitors and media representatives are asked to leave by 5pm.
Location: Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology
The program will begin with several short speeches by various keynote speakers, followed by a short presentation inaugurating the solar panels.
Refreshments, food, and tours of the school, the solar panels, and the donor wall will be continuously run throughout the afternoon at the conclusion of the solar panel inauguration presentation. You do not need to attend the full 2.5 hour program. Drop-ins are allowed.
This event will generously be catered by Whole Foods Market.

Keynote Speaker
The TJSPI is extremely excited to announce that Ms. Lisa Jackson, Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, will be the keynote speaker at this event. As head of the EPA, Administrator Jackson has been accorded Cabinet rank by the President and sits with the President, Vice President, and the Cabinet Secretaries. Read her full biography here.
RSVP
All individual donors must RSVP to attend the event. Additionally, representatives from various media outlets are requested to fill out a short form. Current TJ students, corporate representatives, and area leaders do not need to RSVP if you have already been contacted by the TJSPI. If you have not been contacted by the TJSPI but are interested in attending, please contact us and we can make arrangements.
